I took a pause the last month+ month for knee surgery and am just immensely grateful to those who have stepped up to take over farm chores and household duties, most especially my husband. He in turn I know would give his own special thanks to my mother for her help in keeping us all fed, doing every stitch of laundry and managing the household tasks that first long week of my recovery.

Any change to the farm routine can be a bit challenging, but oh what a great learning experience (and habit breaker) it can be – both for people and for animals. It turns out my way of doing things is not the only way to accomplish a task successfully. Who knew, right??! I may have been the one who paused, but the daily schedule goes on and it has been interesting to watch how they all interpret and adapt to keep things moving.
