There are not a lot of herbs that you can just eat on their own. Fried sage leaves in butter are one of my favorite things to make. Today I went into the garden and picked a whole bunch of big, wide sage leaves and even clipped a few whole side sprigs to help keep my plants tall and healthy. A simple and even elegant garnish, I am going to fry them up in a cast iron skillet, and then pan-sear some pork chops in that fragrant butter left in the pan!

To prepare them, just melt butter in a skillet until it starts to get hot and bubbly, add fresh sage leaves, and cook for about one minute on each side until crispy.
